The Development Authority is responsible for managing and approving development within the Municipal District of Taber (MDT). It ensures that all proposed developments follow the Municipality’s bylaws, administrative procedures, and statutory planning policies to support growth, sustainability, and community well-being.
The Development Authority includes both the Development Officer and the Municipal Planning Commission (MPC). Together, they have the authority to review and approve development applications that meet all municipal requirements.
MPC Meetings
MPC meetings are typically held twice a month on Mondays. If a statutory holiday falls on a Monday, the meeting is usually rescheduled to Tuesday. These meetings are open to the public and held in the Council Chambers at the MDT Administration Building:

Residents and stakeholders are welcome to attend and observe the review of development and subdivision applications, as well as other proposals that impact planning and growth in the MDT.
